Date 2019-08-01

▪ July sales recover from June with a total sales of 10,786 units at home and abroad

▪ Face-lifted Tivoli sales increase 16.8 percent month-on-month, contributing to a recovery in domestic sales

▪ SsangYong to increase global sales based on strengthened product lineup

SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Yea Byung-tae; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that the company sold a total of 10,786 units in July 2019 – 8,707 units in domestic sales and 2,079 in exports, including CKD kits.

SsangYong's July 2019 sales dropped 16.5 percent from a year earlier, showing a decline in both domestic sales and exports due to weakened consumer confidence amid economic slowdown.

However, compared to the previous month, its July sales were up 4.0 percent helped by the launch of face-lifted Tivoli. The company's January-July sales also maintained a growth of 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the domestic market, its July sales decreased 11.4 percent year-on-year, but compared to the previous month, its sales increased 5.9 percent as the Tivoli brand sales were up 16.8 percent from the previous month.

In the overseas market, its July exports dropped 32.8 percent year-on-year.

SsangYong Motor will expand sales by conducting various customer events for the existing models and upcoming gasoline-powered Korando in the second half of this year as well as aggressive marketing activities.

Yea Byung-tae, CEO of SsangYong Motor Company, commented, "Our July sales recovered from the previous month helped by the face-lifted Tivoli despite the overall market downturn," adding, "We will increase our global sales based on the strengthened product lineup including the upgraded models and the gasoline-powered Korando to be launched in the second half of this year."
