SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Choi, Johng-sik; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that SsangYong’s compact SUV XLV has been selected as the Family Car of the Year 2017 at the 30th VAB Family Car Election held by VAB, the largest automobile association in Belgium, in succession to Tivoli last year.
This back-to-back honor is a splendid achievement that Tivoli-platform models have been widely recognized for their value for money and product competitiveness.
Organizing about 100 juries including automotive journalists and car owners, VAB selects the best family car of compact, mid-sized and electric vehicle (categorized based on price) every year. Total 34 candidate cars went through strict evaluations including test drive for selection process this year.
Automotive journalists gave XLV high marks for its excellent interior space, roomy cargo area, optimal engine performance, and gentle and comfortable ride with a diesel engine.
Especially, car owners group said that XLV gave them a ‘feel at home,’ expressing profound satisfaction on XLV’s smooth ride comfort, reasonable price, luxurious interior, and roomy interior space.
Meanwhile, Tivoli-platform models have achieved wide recognition of their outstanding performance and competitiveness and proved with multi-award winning records such as the Ergonomics Design Award, Energy Winner Award, Most Trusted Car of the Year Award, Safest Car of the Year, Good Design Award, Best SUV of the Year and etc.
