Ssangyong Motor (President & CEO Lee Yoo-il; www.kg-mobility.com ), a part of the US $15.4 billion Mahindra Group, announced on July 2 that the company sold a total of 10,038 vehicles in June 2012, - 4,033 in domestic sales and 6,005 in exports, respectively.

Ssangyong’s sales exceeded 10,000 vehicles for the third consecutive month after April. This success is largely attributed to improved company image in the market and consistent introduction of refresh models such as the Korando C CHIC and Rexton W, following the successful launch of the Korando Sports in January.

Ssangyong’s domestic sales exceeded 4,000 vehicles for three straight months showing a stable sales increase thanks to the newly launched New Premium SUV, Rexton W.

Ssangyong’s exports also exceeded 6,000 vehicles for three straight months thanks to robust sales in Russia and South America. Sales of the Korando Sports (the export name: New Actyon Sports) recorded a 36.2 per cent increase as compared to the previous month.

In particular, the Korando Sports and Korando C led the boost in company’s sales. Sales of the Korando Sports stood at 2,937 vehicles in the domestic and export markets, while the Korando C recorded 4,079 vehicles in both markets as well. Ssangyong expects sales for July to increase even further due to growth in sales of the Rexton W.
In addition, the company will expand sales through diverse promotional activities in commemoration of the launch of the refreshed Rodius Euro in July, which is equipped with a new engine and superior specifications.

Lee Yoo-il, CEO of Ssangyong Motor, commented, “We continue to see steady sales increase as various refreshed models including the Korando Sports and Rexton W are receiving a favorable response from the market,” adding, “We will reinforce global marketing activities on diverse product lineups by launching the Rodius Euro in July following the Rexton W.”
