Competitive Supreme Sdn Bhd (CSSB), the sole importer and distributor for South Korean-made SsangYong vehicles, targets to sell between 1,200 and 1,500 Rexton II sport utility vehicles nationwide in the first 12 months of the model's launch.
The new model, which is assembled at the DRB-HICOM Bhd factory in Pekan, Pahang, was launched last month.
CSSB Kuching branch manager Adrian T.K. Chua said the company had received several bookings for Rexton II, which would be delivered within a month to buyers here.
“The new model will be put on display at the Sarawak Tourism Complex here next Saturday during the state's inter-cultural moon cake festival,” he told reporters during a recent media preview of Rexton II here.
The car, priced at RM181,086, is available in six colours.
Chua said Rexton II was the top selling completely built-up diesel full size sport utility vehicle from 2003 to 2005.
He said the Kuching branch sold over 50 SsangYong vehicles last year. CSSB has a full-fledged branch in Miri and authorised dealers here and in Sibu and Bintulu.
