Title NZ Road Race Champs Ready to Rumble

The event also features the New Zealand Tourist Trophies

 

The Production Superbike class may be missing the recently retired Tony Rees (Yamaha) and Brian Bernard (Suzuki), but we will see the return of two past Champions Auckland’s Chris Haldane and Sanson’s Jason McEwan both campaigning Suzukis. The field will also include Australian Champion Shawn Giles, along with newcomers Scott Charlton (Australia) and Chris Peris (Canada) also all on Suzukis.

 

The local contingent will be led by Andrew Stroud, Ray Clee on Suzukis, Jon Lowther (Yamaha), Dean Fulton and Jared Love (Honda) and Lance Lowe and Carey Brier (Kawasaki).

 

With a field like this the racing will nothing short of spectacular.

 

The 600 Sports Production is also shaping up to deliver some of the best racing seen in recent years.

The field consists of Internationals, David Johnson (Australia) Chris Peris (Canada) and Simon Rattenbury (Australia) all on Suzukis, seasoned campaigners, Andrew Stroud, Craig Shirriffs on Suzukis and Derek McAdam (Kawasaki) and the young and up and comers Hayden Fitzgerald (Honda) Steven Wood, Jay Lawrence and James Smith on Kawasakis, along with Sam Smith on the Yamaha. At 31 entries the field is the biggest seen in some years.

 

The Championships will also include races for 250cc GP machines, 125cc GP machines, Formula Three and Sidecars.

This year the sidecar field is boosted by two Australian outfits, Darryl Rainer and Craig Longhurst on their Honda and Stacy Stellar and Evelyn Schultz on their Suzuki.
